Operation Floor Sanding

It finally came time to start thinking about sanding the floors. After exposing all the floors boards throughout the house as you can see below they were all in relatively good condition. A few minor scrapes and a little damage done by the electricians of the previous owners but nothing I don’t think we cant overcome.

I decided to hire a belt sander from Brandon Tool Hire. I Booked weekend hire. so I went to pick the sander up on Saturday morning and got stuck in

Tools Needed:

Floor sander

Things to remember, I had a whole house to do, it did take me a while. I did most of it in a weekend but it does take longer than you think so bare that in mind. Also don’t let the sander go or you will damage something…

Don’t forget to hover some tines as it will clear all the sawdust up and it means your sanding the floor and not the sawdust that wasn’t picked up

Here are the Results

As you can see its looking much better, excellent infact, worth all the hard effort.

The hard bits are left the edges and the tar like paint they painted the floors with in the olden days………

My next task is to tackle the edges and the tar like paint.
